Michelle is originally from Miami, Fl, and moved to Asheville with her family in 2009 and has always had a passion for fitness. Having torn her meniscus with a trainer at age 21, and meeting her husband shortly after, she decided to take a break from fitness for a while. After having kids and gaining 45 pounds, she knew she needed to make a change. Due to her previous experience with a trainer, she was hesitant to hire another one, but she needed the motivation, accountability, and drive. Hiring a trainer with a new style of training changed her life. Michelle was able to loose 45 pounds, went from a size 13 to a size 6. She learned the importance of making fitness, and nutrition a lifestyle change. Her trainer made sure she worked out pain free and that she was doing all the exercises correctly. Michelle soon learned that she wanted to help others achieve the same/similar goals. Her trainer soon became her mentor, and after almost a year of shadowing her mentor, she became a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Now Michelle has her Corrective Exercise Specialist, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and Performance Enhancement through NASM and specializes in Trigger Point Therapy. Michelle has been training for the past 7 years and wants to ensure that you are able to work out pain free. Michelle is focused on building a community at Root Performance Fitness that will help motivate and help you reach you fitness goals.
